The Perfect Lightweight Travel Companion
Whether you’re backpacking in South East Asia, or just doing the school-run: our kikoy fabrics bring colour and sunshine to any occasion!
Kikoys were once used as trading 'currency' along the East African coast.
The original version is a true multitasking hero: wear it as a sarong, skirt, head wrap or scarf, use it as a beach towel, light summer blanket or bed throw.
Wear them with heels for a fun night out. Lounge at the beach, or on the sofa. Once you’ve pulled them on, you won’t want to take them off — they’re that comfortable and beautiful.
Kikoys are long lasting and very versatile: 100% colour, 100% comfort, 100% cotton, 100% Kenyan. Available in colourful stripes or plain colours – the choice is yours!
Colourful Kikoy Clothes with a Conscience
Our ethos is very simple:
We source materials locally on the Kenyan coast. We employ a very dedicated team of four tailors to make your clothes, also on the Kenyan coast. We plough our profits back into this same community.
Thanks to your support we've already built one school and are half-way through building our second school.
Your purchase helps us to provide ongoing funds to build more classrooms, buy curriculum books, give bursaries and food for a daily breakfast club — feeding 90 children and 6 teachers.
We believe that having the buying power to shop ethically, and knowing 'who made your clothes', knowing where they come from, and who you are supporting with this purchase will inspire YOU to continue to care for your clothes, knowing the good it's doing for others.
Bushbells is a purchase with a purpose.
