Meet lovely Flo - who kindly volunteered for us this summer. She was working at the school and with our tailors for almost 5 weeks and loved it.
She took on a very special project with the Grade 5 & 6 children, and introduced them to sewing and basic embroidering. Her inspiration comes from the fact that she is studying Fashion Design at the London College of Fashion, and is about to start her last year of university.
Each child was given their own pennant or 'flag' and were given free reign to embroider their own design onto the flag - which was then all joined together to create bunting for one of our open air classrooms. The children LOVED this project and now take great pride in seeing their very own handiwork fluttering above them! Great result - thank YOU Flo.
Flo said of her time at the school, that she's absolutely loved it and it's "been an amazing experience working with incredible children, and gaining such a valuable insight into their lives. I've loved it."
