Green Bathing in Watamu

Early February means birthday time, and I share mine with Katana - many of you will remember him as the very first student supported by Team Bushbells. He graduated last year and is now working at the Crab Shack in Watamu in their accounting team (https://dabasocreek.wixsite.com/crabshack)

He’s incredibly passionate about restoring the mangroves, which is exactly what this community set out to do.  These amazing ecosystems  capture carbon, protect the coastline, and support so much biodiversity.

They also happen to be the perfect setting for a bit of “green bathing” (or Shinrin-yoku in Japanese). We spent time gently floating among the mangroves—no phones, just soaking in the peaceful verdant environs.  It’s calming, grounding, and genuinely good for the soul. Even the sceptics in our group were converted! If you’re ever in Watamu, I can’t recommend it enough - get in touch and I'd be delighted to connect you!
