And so, the season of evening mists is truly upon us. The wonderful, lingering summer days we’ve enjoyed have suddenly whisked us into November in the blink of an eye!
Bluebells School has now officially closed for its long “summer” break and will reopen in the New Year. Exams for our senior children are taking place this week, while the Kenyan government’s postponement of all PP2 and sports days means our much-anticipated Graduation Day will now be held on 7th November.
We’re delighted to share that a new classroom has been built to accommodate the growing number of little ones in the “baby” class. It will be fully operational by January 2026, marking another exciting step forward for Bluebells.

Poor Mwana has had her share of ill health recently, spending a week in Kilifi Hospital. Happily, she is now home again, and the holidays have come at just the right time for a well-earned rest.

We ended the term on a joyful note, welcoming a dear cousin of mine all the way from Australia, along with two wonderful volunteers, Liv and Serena, who helped paint the backdrop scenes for our forthcoming end-of-term play.

Rahema, one of our amazing tailors, now has her very own water tank—thanks to a generous donation! And Ruth’s twin boys, Josphat and Andrew, turned twelve this month. I still remember the day they were born… it makes me feel rather old!

And can you believe Christmas is less than eight weeks away? My advice: pace yourself and keep in mind what truly matters. Stay well, stay safe, and thank you—as ever - for your continued support.
As someone once wisely said:
“You can tell a lot about a person by the way they handle these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.”
With warmest wishes for a peaceful season ahead.
